To consider the Khimia Exhibition an effective tool for implementation of“Development Strategy for Chemical and Petrochemical Industry for the Period up to 2030” – such was the proposal submitted by representatives of chemical companies, exhibition organizers,and the industry experts that took part in the session on the chemical industry held by the RSPP Commission last week.
Head of the Chemical and Technological Exhibitions Division of Expocentre Andrey And reev made his speech at the session and reminded that in 2015 the Khimia Exhibition would mark its 50th anniversary. The 18th International Exhibition for the Chemical Industry and Science Khimia 2015 will run at Expocentre Fairgrounds on 27-30 October. According to the Division Head, organizers will celebratethe anniversary during the trade show.
Chairman of the RSPP Commission on Chemical Industry, President of the Russian Chemists Union Victor Ivanov, in his turn, pointed out that nowadays such a tool for attracting investors as trade shows and conferences was used insufficiently. “Unfortunately, not all events can display a great number of contacts and contracts,yet it is the main performance figure of anygathering. It is partially connected with a lack of interest and low level of participation on the part of executive authorities. After all, they who should set tasks to be settled at the industry forums and trade shows”, said the RCU President.
The Commission members took the decision to ask RSPP President Alexander Shokhin to address executive authorities with a request to participate in conventions and trade shows,organized by the industry associations,more actively. The session participants agreed to regard the International Chemical Forum, held as part of the Khimia Exhibition, the most important industry event.
